"Madi and Erik were awesome! They have the energy and enthusiasm of youth, combined with a maturity and sense of responsibility far beyond their years. They are also great communicators and never afraid to ask questions. They went above and beyond. Our pets were happy and well cared for. It was clear from the videos of Erik playing on the rug with the dogs and holding Muffin (cat) that Madi and Erik really love animals. The entire menagerie followed them around the house as they moved rooms to work and prepare meals, etc. California suffered through a heat wave with record temperatures while they were here. Erik learned to use our complicated irrigation controllers to give the garden extra water, and also watered other plants by hand. He took the initiative to text me about what could be done to save the garden, and readily understood my text instructions regarding use of the controller. They also harvested a bounty of fruits and vegetables from the garden: Madi made delicious plum jam, tomato sauce and zucchini bread which they shared with us, as well as freezing several bags of plums and beans. Madi and Erik washed their sheets and towel before leaving and left the house looking very clean. They were also very pleasant and interesting to talk to as we shared a meal before we left. We would welcome Madi and Erik back any time!"
